Density, hardness (soft, medium, firm) and other parameters such as height, dimensions, etc. are adjustable to the customers´ wishes. Latex mattresses do not only combine well with slat bases but also show superior biomechanical and microclimatic properties when used on box spring supports in comparison with say innerspring mattresses (Ergonomie Institut München – Dr. Heidinger, Dr. Jaspert & Dr. Hocke GmbH EIM test report of 23.04.2007).

* A healthy sleeper changes his or her physical posture up to sixty times a night (to avoid painful muscles and joints). The ability to change position without obstruction is an essential precondition of a revitalising sleep (Prof. Dr. Raymond Cluydts – VUB, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Zulley - University of Regensburg). The excellent elasticity of latex sleeping products allows the natural body movements of the sleeper.


In addition the unequalled natural and point elasticity provide excellent conformity qualities: the mattress adapts to the body contours, keeping the spinal column perfectly straight when the sleeper is lying on his side and keeping the spinal column in the natural double S line when the sleeper is lying on his back.


* The mattress feels soft at first but offers increasing resistance as it is compressed. This is an important precondition for good comfort.

* The dynamic fatigue test (EN 1957) simulates the accelerated loading experienced by a mattress during its lifetime (approx. 10 years). Latex mattresses proved to be of excellent durability losing only a minimum in height and hardness in comparison with other material.

* Even distribution of pressure prevents pain in parts of the body where peak pressure can occur (shoulders, hips, heels) and guarantees good blood circulation.


* Excellent temperature (not too warm, not too cold) and moisture (evaporation of perspiration fluids) regulation perfectly tailored to the sleeper.


* Latex has an open-cell structure, containing millions of minuscule interconnected air bubbles that not only cause the material to be highly resilient but also ensure optimal ventilation.


* Latex mattresses are silent, have anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-house dust mite qualities (Morton Thiokol No 87-304, Centexbel report 8276 ISO 10993-5) and are not known to cause allergies.

A recent and independent study that determined the ecological footprint of the Latexco products showed that the use of natural latex in the Latexco products significantly improves the results as to energy consumption and CO2 emission in comparison with other sleeping alternatives.
